Getting a Visa to Uganda

There are no complications in entry requirements to Uganda. All that you need is a valid VISA which can be obtained from the Consular, High Commission or Embassy of Uganda in your country. Visas are necessary for most visitors (with the exception of nationals from East African Community who are exempted. This Ugandan Visa is obtained at a fee of 50USD.

Alternatively, you can still get a VISA on arrival at Entebbe International airport or on all our major entry points. If you plan to obtain a VISA to Uganda at Entebbe Airport, you should confirm in advance that your airline allows you to board without visa.

In addition to obtaining a Visa to Uganda, the following vaccinations are required;

a) Yellow fever vaccine
b) It’s recommended that if you intend to get closer to wild animals you obtain vaccination for Hepatitis B and A.
c) Vaccinations for Meningitis, Tetanus and Typhoid are also recommended.

Uganda Visa Information

East African Tourist Visa

In alternative to getting a Ugandan visa, you can also obtain an East African Tourist Visa.

The East Africa Tourist Visa allows you travel between the Republics of Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. This Visa is a result of a joint initiative made by the Heads of States of the respective partner countries to ease, boost travel and create opportunities for tourists to explore the diversity of East Africa.

Travellers from any country can obtain a multiple entry Visa that allows entry to the three Republics of Uganda,Kenya and Rwanda for tourism over a period of 90 days.

All tourists intending to visit Uganda and any other country where this VISA is allowed are eligible to obtain this VISA with no restrictions on the country of origin.

All tourists MUST have an official and genuine international passport valid for not less than 6 months from the time of Visa application. All persons must apply in their own right.

This East African Tourist Visa is obtained at a cost of 100USD. This Visa does not permit work.

The holder of the East Africa tourist visa shall enter the region from the country that issued the visa and move within the two other countries without applying for another visa or paying for another Visa fee.

This East African Tourist Visa shall not be extended upon expiry.

The holder of this East African tourist Visa shall be allowed to move out of the Republics of Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda and return without having to pay for another visa. This is only applicable for the validity period of the visa (90 days) from Visa approval.
