Lake Mburo Safari — 3 Days, 2 Nights
This safari tour takes you through Uganda’s most savanna national park generally known for its Impala herds and Zebras. It is endowed with various antelopes including the Common Elands. Other animal species include warthogs, buffalos, and Defassa waterbucks. Leopards and hyenas are also present while crocodiles and over 300 hippos are found in the lake.
Lake Mburo national park also boasts of around 350 bird species which have been recorded to date. These include among others, the Red-faced Barbet only seen in Lake Mburo, the endemic African Finfoot and the rare Shoebill. Other key species are the Papyrus Yellow Warbler, Saddle-billed Stork, Brown-chested Lapwing, African-wattled Lapwing, Carruther’s Cisticola, Tabora (Long-tailed) Cisticola, African Scops Owl, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill and White-winged Warbler.
Acacia woodland bird species are also well represented and forest species may be found in Rubanga forest. These include Blue-breasted Kingfisher, Hairy-breasted Barbet and Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird, among others.
Day 1 — Arrival and pick from Entebbe International Airport
On arrival, our guide/driver picks and then transfers you to the booked hotel of your choice in/around Entebbe or Kampala for overnight stay.
Day 2 — Travel to Lake Mburo with an evening game drive
The guide/driver picks you from the hotel/lodge and drives westwards to Lake Mburo National park via Masaka-Mbarara high way.
Along the way, there are amazing and interesting encounters that give you an insight of the cultural and traditional ways of the local communities for example a stopover at Mpambire .This is the Centre where drums are made from. These drums used to and still act as music instruments for traditional functions especially in the Buganda region.
You also encounter herds of the indigenous famous Ankole cow (Long horned) which is predominantly found in this western region of the country.
On the Way still to Lake Mburo or the return trip to Kampala or Entebbe, stop and take in a visit to the Equator that runs through Uganda. It’s marvelous to have pictures taken underneath the Equator Sign.
Generally, people tend to carry out non-scientific experiments, most of them are manipulated illusions and not authentic, but fun to watch.
There are also Curio and Souvenir Shops that you can visit. A couple of them have their wares nicely displayed and make it easier to shop for crafts, including of course the Equator T-Shirt that is an optional buy for many visitors and others.
On arrival in the park, check in at the lodge, have lunch and relax. In the evening, take a bush game drive where you are likely to see Zebras, Impala herds, Warthogs, water bucks, Topis among others.
The scenery of rolling hills, lakes, swamps make Africa real, it is where the Tanzanian Savannah meets Uganda in a most scenic fashion. This park provides the best chance of viewing a deep red sunset silhouetting the thorny acacia shrub along the extensive marshy area. This amazing natural occurrence is worthy being experienced.
Day 3 — Morning game drive and Transfer to Kampala
After an early morning breakfast, go for a morning game drive in Lake Mburo national park.
This park is famous for Zebras, Impalas, Cape Buffalos and many tropical bird species.
Thereafter go for an afternoon boat cruise and enjoy the sighting of aquatic animals like hippos, crocodiles as well as buffaloes. Some bird species can also be sighted along the shores .These may include, African fish Eagle, Goliath Heron, Black crowned night Heron, African Finfoot, Shining blue kingfisher among others.
After the boat cruise, check out and transfer back to Kampala with lunch en route or in Kampala and a stopover at the equator line for photo session and experimentation if this encounter was not experienced during the travel to the park.

Price — US $640 per person (For two people)
The price slightly increases if you decide to travel as a solo traveler. Conversely, the price payable per person reduces from the stated amount if the tour is booked by more than two people.
