Birding Safari — 6 Days, 5 Nights
Overview
The tour will start and end in Entebbe, it will involve moving north to Murchison falls national park which is the country’s biggest national park measuring 3893km2. Activities to be done include bird watching, rhino tracking and game viewing.
Day 1 — Arrival at the airport
Depending on your time of arrival, we will bird in the botanic gardens. The gardens provide different birds of different habitats that’s to say forest species, water species and savannah. Such as Woolly-necked Stock, Saddle-billed Stork, Yellow-billed Stork, Long-toed Lapwings, Common Bulbul, Yellow-fronted Tinkerbird, Little Greenbul.
Day 2 — Birding Mabamba and Drive to ZZiwa rhino sanctuary
We set off early this day after having breakfast to Mabamba a community protected swamp which is about 50km west of Entebbe. The swamp is home to the famous and iconic bird the Shoebill. We will paddle through its channels as we look for the shoebill and other water birds like Lesser Jacana, Papyrus Gonelek, Winding Cisticola, Yellow-billed Ducks, African Jacana, Gargany, Blue-breasted Bee-eater, African Marsh Harrier.
Later on this day, we will head North to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary a home to the only wild Rhinos in the country. Its location is about 176km from Kampala. The Ranch holds about 22 southern white rhinos.
Day 3 — Rhino trekking and drive to Murchison falls National Park
After an early breakfast, You will trek the rhinos as we also do birding in the area. Birds expected to be seen include, Green Pigeons, Black Cuckoo, White-crested Turaco, Eurasion Hoopoe, Red-headed Weaver, Brown Snake-Eagle, Tawny Eagle.
After having lunch we will head to Budongo forest in Murchison falls National.
Day 4 — Birding in Budongo
You will do a morning birding in the forest as we look for the Puvells Illadopsis which will be followed by a drive to the top of the falls and to the accomodation facility were you will be staying for the two nights.
Day 5 — Birding in Murchison
Early morning game drive where you will have chances of seeing vast numbers of animals such as Giraffes, Kobs, Lions. Oribis, Elephants. The Park also has different birds like the Gray-crowned Crane, Bateleur, Red-necked Falcon, Grey Kestral, Grasshopper Buzzard, Montagu’s Harrier, Norther Carmine Bee-eater.
Day 6 — Return to Entebbe
This will be the last day of the trip and we shall drive back to Entebbe while doing different stops on the way or may decide to drive depending on your departure flight time.

Price — US $1400 per person (For two people)
The price slightly increases if you decide to travel as a solo traveler. Conversely, the price payable per person reduces from the stated amount if the tour is booked by more than two people.
